Access Plans USA, Inc. was formerly known as Precis, Inc. Precis was founded in 1996 and became a public company in 2000. In June 2004, Precis acquired Access HealthSource, Inc., a third-party administration company which became Foresight TPA in 2007. On January 30, 2007, Precis was renamed Access Plans USA, Inc. when Precis merged with Insurance Capital Management USA, Inc., a national marketer of health insurance and supplemental healthcare products. On October 1, 2007, the company acquired Protective Marketing Enterprises, Inc. (PME), a wholesaler of discount medical service products that also provides back office support through its operating systems and a high-quality customer service facility. PME develops products utilizing both its proprietary dental and vision provider networks and third-party provider networks. The company trades on NASDAQ under the symbol “AUSA”.
